Mihai Pohonţu, Amber's Chairman, is the Entrepreneur of the Year in 2022 in Romania

Mihai Pohontu, Chairman at Amber, was designated last night as the winner of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ competition - Romania 2022. The entrepreneur competed for the prestigious title alongside 56 other business leaders and will represent Romania in the global final of EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year™ in June 2023.

Amber is a creative agency that provides a wide range of video game development solutions, from delivering complete products to co-development, platform conversion, live operations, and support services. The company was founded in 2013 in Bucharest and currently employs over 1,200 specialists, with offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Botoșani, Guadalajara, Montreal, Warsaw, and Kyiv.

The Bucharest-based business has collaborated and continues to work with globally renowned brands in the gaming industry, such as Amazon, King, Big Fish Games, Disney, Warner Media, and That Game Company. Amber's game portfolio includes hits like Tetris Beat, Super Spy Ryan, PositronX, Wild Things, and Link Twin, as well as contributions to titles like Sky: Children of Light and Nascar Heat 5. The mobile game Cinderella Free Fall developed for Disney, has been downloaded by over 8 million people worldwide.

In 2021, Amber recorded a record turnover of USD 30 million, a 56% increase compared to the previous year. In November 2022, Amber received a USD 20 million investment, valuing the post-investment assessment at USD 190 million, to accelerate the global development of the company.
